Emma's birthday party

Last night we went to Cici's for Emma's 9th birthday party. Her friends from school, Jake, Skyler, and Jennifer; and her friends from church, Lauren & Joey, came with us! We had a great time!!

More Poker Fun

Last night we were trying to play focused poker ("Foker") but it didn't go very well.

Royals vs. White Sox

Eli got to see his first Royals game with his Uncle Ryan and I. He wasn't real sure about it at first, but soon he had his KC hat hat on and his foam finger flyin high! Got our butts handed to us, but it was a great time.

No more than 3 minutes in the car, and Eli was out!

Emma's birthday

Doesn't she look grown up?



Emma is nine! Yesterday was the big day, and since Jamie and Eli were in KC at the Royals game with Uncle Ryan, we girls celebrated big time! Mickie and I picked Emma up at school, then we went for a treat at Ivanna Cone, painted pottery at Paint Yourself Silly, picked out some stuff at Michael's, and ate supper at Red Robin. Emma was serenaded and treated to TWO balloons and an ice cream sundae (she was really impressed by the two balloons). Then she and Mickie had a 'fun' bubble bath (meaning they squished too much soap into the water so I couldn't wash their hair). It was a great day - too bad Emma had homework! Dumb fourth grade!

Eli's Trebuchet

We were in Norfolk this weekend to see Mom and Dad and celebrate Emma's birthday, and Eli got a Lego set that - according to him - is a trebuchet. All of us common folk call it a catapult, but Eli knows better. He's so cute putting it together!!!

Renaissance Faire

We had a great time at the Renaissance Faire in Des Moines this weekend! The kids looked great, and we got to shoot arrows, watch shows, eat great food, and step back in time! We're already planning for the KC Faire next month!!!

Mickie's first day of preschool

Micayla started preschool at the Nature Center last Friday. She was so excited!! They went on a hike and had a snack. There are 10 boys and two girls (including Mickie) in her class!!

More wildlife at the Brown acreage...

This was so cool close up. The green bug (I think it's some sort of katydid) had just gotten caught in the web, and the spider went right for it and started wrapping it up in its web. VERY COOL!!!
