Riley's Birthday Party
This weekend we went to our friends' Aaron & Julie's in Kansas City to help celebrate their daughter Riley's second birthday. It was a really fun weekend; great to see them again and awesome to spend some time in KC! Aaron & Julie have a beautiful new house, and we loved hanging out in it!This is Riley.
This was our room - the downstairs guest room.
Julie hired three sisters to be princesses for the party and help with games and things.
The cake . . .
Eli wasn't very happy with his fake camera prize. (Wow, I need to get my hair straightened again!)
Sam's Goodbye Party
One of our college-age friends moved from Lincoln back to her hometown in Texas last weekend. We took the kids to her going-away party, despite the late hour on a school night, and they were the hit of the party! We all had a great time, but we'll miss Sam!!These guys were hiding Eli so we couldn't take him home!!

Snow, Snow, Snow
We got about 4 inches of snow yesterday!! The girls went out to play after Emma and Eli got home from school. They had a great time in their snow pants and boots (I had to make a quick trip to get snow boots yesterday afternoon!!!). Our yard looks beautiful with all of the snow, but Jamie had to take my Explorer to work today - his car wouldn't make it out of the driveway! More snow is supposed to come tonight through Monday - it's 81 today in Texas!!! Oh well.

Santa Conquers the Martians
We had a Christmas Party planned where we would decorate the outside of the house for winter, and everyone was coming over to help. But it was really nasty outside that day, so we decided to watch a low rate Christmas movie from the 50's called "Santa Conquers the Martians" and decorate cookies. Rush to your nearest video store and rent that one.
